2025 AWVCC: Customs Ladies get tough R16 Draw

Hosts, Nigeria Customs Service Volleyball Women Team will face a tough battle in Kenya Commercial Bank, KCB volleyball club when they clash in the knockout phase of the ongoing African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship in Abuja.

The Customs Ladies made it to this stage of the tournament with a win in the opener when they thrashed Mayo Kane Evolution (MKE) of Cameroon 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-22) but lost their last 2 games to Carthage of Tunisia and APR of Rwanda. KCB on the other hand won their first 2 games but fell to Al Ahly of Egypt 3-2 in their last encounter.

Nigeria other representative, Chief of Naval Staff CNS Spikers have Litto volleyball club of Cameroon to contend with in the knockout phase.

CNS began their campaign with a straight sets win 3-0 over Botswana’s Spikers and Spiking Stars. However, they failed to repeat the win in their last 2 games against Zamalek and Kenya Prisons.

In some other round 16 fixtures, Club Ominisports Descartes of Cote d’Iviore will test the might of reigning champions, Zamalek of Egypt, Armee Patrotique Rwanda, APR will square off against La Loi of DR Congo.

Elsewhere, it will be Carthage of Tunisia versus Senegal’s Sococim as Al Ahly take on Mayo Kane Evolution of Cameroon.

Kenya Pipeline Company, KPC will go head to head against Spikers and Spiking Stars, SSV of Botswana while Kenya Prisons tackles Police Rwanda.

The fixtures for R16 for the 2025 CAVB Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship commence tomorrow Tuesday, April 8th at the indoor Sports Halls of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja.
