Nigeria’s under 18 women handball team, redeemed themselves, Thursday, as they defeated host Tunisia 28-20 at the Africa Women’s Youth Handball Championship.
The Coach Shittu Agboola’s tutored team knew that they needed to defeat the host to stand a chance of qualifying to the quarter finals and, despite a slow start, they won the first half 13-9.
The second half was even a more comfortable affair for Nigeria as the team continued in the same fashion wherein they left off in first with Rahima Bello mesmerizing and punching hole in the Tunisia defense and they won the game 28-20.
For her superlative performance, Rahima Bello was voted MVP of the match.
With this result, Nigeria are in the quarter final of the championship and they will play Morocco on Wednesday at 4pm.
