African Women Volleyball Inter-Club Championship kicks off Thursday

All is set for the commencement of the 2025 African Women Volleyball Inter-Club Championship slated for Thursday at the Package B of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja

The event which is being sponsored by the Nigeria Customs Service will feature 24 teams.

As at press time, only three participating teams – Spiking Stars of Botswana, Al-Ahly and Zamalek of Egypt, APR Women of Rwanda, CFC of Tunisia, CNS of Nigeria, Club Omnisports Descartes of Cote d’Ivoire were cleared and ready for participation.

Nigeria’s representative, the Nigeria Customs Service Women are hoping to wrestle the trophy from the defending champions, Zamalek of Egypt.

Meanwhile, some international journalists were seen at the venue of the event, while some were admiring the venue, others were busy with their accreditations.

Recalled that arrival and accreditations of players, officials, journalists and others commenced on Tuesday at the venue of the event

President of the Volleyball Federation, Musa Nimrod said they are fully ready to host the world. Our correspondent saw the organisers putting some finishing touches to the venue including test-run of the lightings, air-conditioning, branding, etc.
