AMCON seals up Murg Plaza, takes over property

The Assets Management Company of Nigeria, AMCON on Monday seal up one of the busiest shopping complexs in Abuja, Murg Plaza on the order of court.

Although the reason for such action is not yet known but sources said it might not be unconnected with money owned by the owner of the plaza.

Meanwhile, shop owners woke up this morning to discover that their offices have been sealed up and the places secured by Policemen.

Efforts to get reaction from the officials who came to carry out the order proved abortive. The area is presently jam-packed because of shop owners who out of frustration parked on the road causing traffic obstruction.

Some petty traders and operators of small shops around the plaza are already crying for help. They claimed that their means of livelihood have been stopped by government.

Recalled that some of them earn a living from what they do on daily basis especially those that do the finishing for printers like the binders of books, stitching, collating of papers, just to mention a few.
