Thursday was definitely not a good day for the Black Stars of Ghana who lost their opening 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers match to Palancas Negras of Angola.
The match which was played at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi jam-packed with crowd saw the Black Stars lose by 1-0 in the last minute.
The players did everything humanly possible to at least equalise and get a draw from the match because of the reactions from the Kumasi fans but all to no avail.
Despite the array of stars paraded which comprises of Kudus, Partey, Ayew, the Ghanians still lost the match. Ghana is presently seated in the third position on the table with Angola and Sudan on first and second positions respectively.
Meanwhile, angry fans took to the field, destroying the pitch panels and other equipment in the stadium and attacking anyone that dared to stop them.
Ghanaian fans have not had the best of the Black Stars for sometimes now. They crashed out in the group stage at the last African cup of nations, AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire, in a group that has minnow like Cape Verde qualifying alongside Egypt with Ghana crashing out with just two points.
Ghana will play their next match against Niger Republic on Monday 9th of September in Niamey.
