In the 85th minute, the Flying Eagles once again capitalized on the mistakes of the EFCC defense to grab the winner,. The match ended 2-1 in favour of the Flying Eagles.

Although, the Technical Crew did not talk to the team but an insider who spoke on anoymity confided in our correspondent that the match was the toughest they had had so far in their build-up to the 2023 African Youth Championship slated for Egypt.

Meanwhile, Chief Coach of EFCC, Kabiru Sani said they lost the match to lack of concentration on the parts of his players.

His words, “It was a good game from my boys and the National U20 team. First half was good, we were one goal up in the second half but a little lost of concentration from the defense line caused the problem. You know you are playing a professional side, they used the advantage and capitalized on our mistakes and got their two goals.

“Yes, we will go back to the drawing board and correct those mistakes, we will also organise tough friendly matches for the boys so that we can identify all those kinds of lapses before the league commence,” he said.

On the Flying Eagles, Coach KB as he is fondly called, said, “They gave us a good challenge. I know we were going to expect a game like this, they have been defeating teams like 5-1, 6-1 and I know that the team I saw will represent Nigeria well at the mundial.”
