Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike launched the construction of the 15.4-kilometer Pai-Gomain Road in Kwali Area Council on October 29th, 2024. This project aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” to enhance infrastructure development in satellite towns according to him.
Wike expressed dissatisfaction with the award process, questioning why the A2 Pai Road was not prioritized. He directed emergency proceedings to award the A2 Pai Road contract, ensuring seamless connectivity.
The Minister emphasized equal distribution of democratic dividends across area councils, stating, “Every area council must benefit.” He highlighted the region’s farming potential and committed to completing roads for effortless farm product transportation.
Wike urged the coordinator, director, and contractors to ensure timely completion and quality standards this according to him is to enable the residents of Kwali Area council enjoy the good work of the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication.
The Coordinator Satellite Towns Development Department, Hon. Abdulkadir Zulkiflu, oversaw the flag-off ceremony for the Pai-Gomain Road project in Kwali Area Council. He provides an in-depth overview of the project, highlighting the key components as Road Construction of 15.4 km length, 150 mm thick lateritic sub-base and 150 mm thick crushed stone base, Surface 60mm thick Asphaltic binder course and 40mm thick Asphaltic wearing course, box and pipe culverts, trapezoidal concrete lined drain, access slabs, and culverts- Two-span river bridges.
He further explained that the project was awarded to Messrs L&D Ltd, in Sept 24th 2024, expected to be completed within 12 months Zulkiflu said this initiative marks the ninth project flagged off by Minister Barr Nyesom Wike in the six area councils, demonstrating his commitment to transforming the Federal Capital Territory.
Wike’s efforts align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” focusing on infrastructure development in satellite towns as he emphasized equal distribution of democratic dividends across area councils, ensuring rural communities benefit from develop projects he said.
Inline with the Minister’s request to the coordinator and the Director Regional Infrastructure, Engr Nathaniel Edor and his teams, the coordinator has promised to do his possible best in making sure that everything profesionally is put in place to achieve a quality and standard timely adherence.
In response to the Minister’s speech the contractor and his team promised to deliver exceptional work, leveraging 25 years of expertise.
