FIFA WWC: Super Falcons Players rewarded with $10,000 each

The Super Falcons players were rewarded with the sum of Ten thousand dollars ($10,000) equivalent of N8.5m each after an outstanding performance at the about-to-be-concluded FIFA Women World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Shortly after arriving the country, they were invited to the seat of power by the First Lady, Senator Remi.

Recalled that the Super Falcons crashed out after holding England female national team to a goalless draw in 120 minutes of play.

They eventually bowed out of the tournament in the round of 16 after losing in a penalty shoot-out.

No one believed that the Falcons will scale through the group stage which had co-host, Australia, Olympics champions, Canada and Ireland but the ladies gallantly picked the second ticket ahead of Canada who crashed out in the first round.

The Super Falcons are also expecting to be paid $60,000 for getting to the round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup.

It will be recalled that Senator Tinubu also rewarded the female basketball team, D’Tigress on their arrival to Nigeria at the Presidential Villa.
