This is definitely not the best of times for players and officials of Under 17 female team otherwise known as Flamingoes as they continue to groan over their unpaid wages and allowances.

According to investigation, their camping allowance from February 6 to June 5, 2022 is pending while their match bonuses for qualifying matches they played against Congo, Egypt and Ethiopian are also yet to be paid.

The World Cup bonuses for the matches against Chile, New Zealand, U.S.A, and Germany have also not be paid.

According to the information we got, they were promised 10,000 dollars by the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau while Alhaji Balele also promised to do the same for winning the third place match.

The founder of Naija Ratels, Barrister Paul Edeh also promised the team the sum of N3.1m.

It is believed that they must have forgotten to redeem their promises because they are men of integrity when we consider what they have done in the past.

However, some of the girls, coaches and others are already indebted believing that whenever they are paid, they will be able to pay back but now, they are being pressurised to pay back or be embarrassed.

There is need for the NFF President to try and present the Golden Bronze of the Flamingoes to President Muhammadu Buhari, this will help to motivate the players and others especially the Flying Eagles that are preparing to go to the U20 African Youth Championship, AYC in Egypt.
