… inaugurates MOC Sub-Committees
The Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Adebukola Olopade on Thursday disclosed that this is the first time the NSC is raising N5b from the State.
He made this disclosure while inaugurating the Main Organizing Committee, MOC Sub-Committees for 22nd National Sports Festival, NSF tagged Gateway Games, Ogun 2024 ar the Media Centre of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
His words, “This is the first time the NSF had raised N5b from the State.”
Hon. Olopade who also doubles as the Local Organizing Committee, LOC Chairman said the action is an integral part of their responsibilities towards the delivery of a successful Games.
The DG however charged the MOC Sub-Committees Members to put in their best to ensure a successful National Sports Festival, as failure is not an option.
He further said, “Barely a month to the festival and the attendant responsibilities of organizing successful sports events, the MOC decided to constitute relevant Sub-Committees to achieve its mandate.”
Hon. Olopade continued, “”Members of the Sub-Committees have been carefully selected based on their relevant experiences, exposures, competence and commitment towards a successful delivery of assignments.
“I am satisfied with the caliber of people that make up the Sub-Committees and have no doubt that the Games will meet the expectations of Nigerians,” he noted. The 19 Sub Committees of the MOC for the 22nd National Sports Festival are:
1. General Coordinator/MOC Secretary – Mrs Thecla Opara as chairperson
2. Accreditation – Patrick Abobi as chairman
3. Hotel Accommodation – Musa Ahmadu (chairman)
4. Anti-Doping – Fadeke Fadeyibi as chairperson
5. Medicals – Dr. Ibrahim Gyaran
(chairman)
6. Games Services – Olumide Bamiduro
(chairman)
7. Torch of Unity – Mbora Ikanna (Chairman)
8. Finance – Mustapha Ladan
(chairman)
9. Monitoring and Evaluation – Yahaya Sallau (Chairman)
10. Ceremonials – Amaka Ashiofu
(chairman)
11. Marketing & Information Management – Seyi Johnson
12. Games Village Management – Femi Ajao
13. Transport – Salisu Abubakar
14. Press and Publicity – Kehinde Ajayi

Recalled that the Main Organizing Committee (MOC) for the Games was inaugurated some months ago by the then Minister of Sports Development, Sen. John Owan Enoh.
