Information making the rounds is that Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen did not travel with the team to Boauke, venue of Super Eagles next match against South Africa at the ongoing African Cup of Nations, AFCON.

The powerful and hardworking striker has not been training with the team due to abdominal pain, hence he was left behind in their Pulman Hotel when the team traveled to Boauke on Monday, but information has it that the player is now strong and good to go.

As at press time, he was on his way to Bouake, to feature in the match on Wednesday. We understand it was one of the tactics to send confusion to the camp of the South Africans.

Meanwhile, we gathered that when the news got to the camp of South Africa about Osimhen’s absence from the Super Eagles team, it was celebration galore.

Osimhen has been a terror to teams at the ongoing AFCON which has seen the Super Eagles in the semi final stage despite scoring only one goal against Equatorial Guinea in the first match.

The Super Eagles will play South Africa on Wednesday at the Stade de la Paix Stadium, Bouake, Abuja.
