The 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL season will commence on 22nd of August.
This piece of information was made available to the media by the chairman of the NPFL, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye at the Annual General Meeting, AGM/Draws for the league which also took at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Abuja on Monday.
The Star Match of the Day will be between the reigning NPFL champions, Remo Stars of Ikenne against defending champions, Rivers Utd of Port-Harcourt, at Remo Sports Complex, Ikenne, Ogun State.
Meanwhile, the Prize Money remains the same with last season’s (N200 million). According to the NPFL Chairman, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, if things improve and they are able to muscle more money through sponsorship, the prize money will be increased.
Hon. Elegbeleye also said nothing will be different from what they did last season except that Startimes, their former broadcast station will not take the NPFL matches of 2025/26 season. Although he did not reveal the new broadcast station but he said they are weighing other options available to them.
