Senate President in Cote d’Ivoire to support Super Eagles

Information reaching our sports desk is that the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio is on his way to Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire to support the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Senator Akpabio, we learnt is coming with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Tajudeen Abbas; Chairman, Senate Committee on Sports, Senator Kau Ismaila; Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Sports, Senator Ned Prince Nwoko and wife.

Others are Hon. Dr. Adedayo Adesola Samuel, representing the good people of Apapa Federal Constituency. He is also representing the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Sports, Hon. Ekene Adams. Also on the entourage is Hon. Felix Uche Nwaeke representing Eleme/Tsi/Oyigbo Federal Constituency of Rivers State, amongst other dignitaries.

They are expected to pay a visit to the Nigerian Embassy, Cote d’Ivoire Senate House and other places before going to the stadium to watch the Super Eagles.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Number Three citizen, who is a lover of sports, was supposed to have landed in Abidjan but for some hitches which have since been sorted out.

Recalled that before Senator Akpabio became the Senate President, he was the Governor of Akwa-Ibom State where he built a FIFA standard state-of-the-art stadium that is currently the home of the Super Eagles. And during his tenure as Governor, the Super Eagles churn out outstanding performances because of his show of love to the team.
