WAC 2023: Tobi Amusan cleared, to participate in Budapest

The coast is now cleared for Nigerian 10m hurdles star, Tobiloba Amusan to participate in the 2023 World Athletics championship in Budapest, Hungary which is about to commence.

Amusan’s suspension was lifted by the Athletics Integrity Unit ( AIU). She was alleged to have failed to attend a doping test on three occasions.

The US-based Nigerian who is currently the defending champion of the Women’s 100 metres hurdles eventually was cleared on Thursday.

AIU in a statement made available to the media reads, “A panel of the Disciplinary Tribunal, by majority decision, has today found out that Tobi Amusan has not committed an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) of three Whereabouts Failures within 12 month.”

Report has it that Amusan has been training despite the suspension and she is set to storm Budapest to defend her title.
