The Chairman of the National Sports Commission, NSC, Mallam Shehu Dikko said they are going to collaborate with the private sector to fix all the stadia across the country.
He made this disclosure at the two-day Capacity Building Workshop for Sports Officer and Professionals of the NSC on Tuesday at the Press Conference of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
His words, “By the time we fix the Abuja National Stadium, we will bring in the private sector to come and see what we have done and see how and where they can come in.”
Mallam Shehu however urged the Sports Officers and Professionals to put in more efforts to give Nigerians joy. He noted that they are just privileged to manage sports hence they must do whatever it takes to achieve success.
He said, “God has given us the opportunity to manage what gives millions of Nigerians joy. We are privileged hence we must put in more effort in whatever we are doing to achieve success. We hope that after the two days, we will see an improved sports administration.”
The Workshop continues and ends on Wednesday with papers presentation in the morning on “Change Management in National Sports Federations, and Remodeling Sports Governance and Development in Nigeria” by Barr. Musa Ahmadu and HRH Alhassan Saleh Yakmut respectively.
Lunch Break will witness session 7 and 8 with papers presentation by Dr. Samuel Ogbondeminu and Mr. Olusoji Adeniran on “Keeping National Federation Compliant in the Anti-Doping Chain and Mastering Organizational Skills for Work Proficiency and Performance” respectively.
Recalled that four papers were presented on Tuesday. They are “21st Century High Performance Management Strategies for Podium Success in Sport by HRH Alhassan Saleh Yakmut while Salihu Abubakar took session 2 with the topic: “Developing Successful Marketing and Sponsorship Plans for the National Sports Federations (RHINSE).
Session 3 on Mastering Communication Excellence: Report Writing, Speech Writing, Presentation, Concept Note and Memo Writing was taken by Mr. Olusoji Adeniran while Session 4 with the topic “Ethics and Values of a Sports Officer/Sports Professional” was taken by Mr. Bamiduro Olumide.
