The newly-reelected Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Football Association, Alhaji Adam Mouktar Muhammad said they are going to improve on development of human and infrastructures.
He stated this shortly after taking oath of office as the chairman of the FCT FA for another term on Saturday at the Elli-Top Hotel, Bwari, Abuja.
His words, “Yes, we know we have to take football to the grassroot, that we have been doing, we have taken development to the Area Councils and I think the Area Councils are very happy with the successes we have achieved.
“We know that football is a continuous. With the capital development ongoing, let’s not forget, we have invested in human development, the coaches, referees, administrators, we need to keep them trained and retrained,” he noted.
The chairman further said, “We need to see how to develop facilities at the Area Councils, so we need to do more. We need to develop the players from bottom to the top. We need to encourage stakeholders in FCT to continue to invest in football development,” he concluded.
Recalled that Mr. Mouktar won the election unopposed with 12 yes vote & zero No vote.
Meanwhile, his first Vice Chairman, Hon. Salisu Kolo was not that lucky. Despite running unopposed, he was unable to get the required number of votes to give him the position for the second time. He scored five votes against seven votes.
On the other hand, Hon. John Gabaya was elected 2nd Vice Chairman with all 12 Yes Votes. Amongst the Board Members are former U17 Assistant Coach, Mr. Abimbola Samuel with 11yes votes & 1 No vote.
The duo of Ex-internationals, Mr. Patrick Bassey and Mr. Femi Ajilore won by 12 yes votes & 0 No. vote and 7 yes votes & 5 No votes respectively.
Former chairperson of Women Football, Mrs Ngozi Eze won alongside another woman on board, Mrs. Ayegba Pat Ajuma. Founder of Likeminds Football Club, Gwagwalada, Mr. Akintade Babatunde Nelson completes the number.
