WEEKLY DOSE: Women, weaker but stronger vessels

Women are referred to as weaker vessels in the Holy Book, so that the male counterparts can be of help to them but recent findings have shown that women are stronger vessels.

Things seem to be taking a new leaf. Gone are the days when women sit at home to wait for their husbands to get back from their hustle for money to buy matches, soaps, etc or when women are referred to as kitchen and baby-making materials, today it is no longer so.

Many women are taking the bull by the horns and are taking responsibilities where their men counterparts have failed especially those that have husbands hence they deserve to be celebrated on a daily basis not only on Women’s Day.

Thay are always the last to sleep. They ensure that the family – husband and children are well fed, clean up the dishes where the children are still small, ensure that the leftover foods don’t smell the following day.

Despite sleeping late, they are the first to wake up. They are up early to do the house chores while they prepare the breakfast for the husband and children; while the man is still in bed probably sleeping.

Nowadays, women are also contributing to the upkeep of the house, some work in offices while some have their businesses which they run. After running around in the day, they still rush back home to prepare the meal for the family in their tired state while the man, who is also tired, sits in the sitting room, relaxing, and watching TV and waiting for food to be ready. In some cases, some women pick up the kids from school.

I came across a woman, who leaves home as early as 6am to get her goods that she sells, she was actually hustling, while it rains, most women don’t care about the heat of the sun while their male counterparts prefer to stay in air conditioned environments.

Research has shown that there are more lazy men than women. Women will ensure that they look for something to do, I mean legitimate jobs while her male counterparts will be selecting jobs that befit their so-called status. There is a tribe in the Southern and Middle-Belt parts of Nigeria, where their women are the ones that hustle while the majority of their men sit at home to drink.

Statistics have also proven that women are more spiritual and prayerful than men. Women are always more in number and interested in the things of God hence they are more spiritual and prayerful. If not for the way it is being perceived in this part of the world or in some churches, women would have dominated their male counterparts in the work of God especially pastoring.

When we look at the sexual life of both, women suffer the pains more. No matter how big and heavy a man is, the woman “carries” the man or bears his weight and still survives it and even wants more. We have seen small women marry heavy and fat men and yet no complain, how they do it, I don’t know, maybe when you see them, you do the asking by yourself.

Another reason why the women need to be celebrated is that no matter how fearfully and wonderfully-made the man is, the woman tolerates and marry him. Some will claim it is because of their money, can any man marry a ugly woman that has money and not have a girlfriend outside marriage? But most women stick to their wonderfully and fearfully-made husbands. Look at the likes of Tinubu, Oshiomhole, Obasanjo, Ned Nwoko, despite their handsomeness, they still married beautiful women.

Even though it was a punishment from God that they should go through pains to bear children, the pains are too much for them to carry and despite the pains of carrying one, they still go for more.

They carry pregnancy for nine months and still be working and doing the house chores; and on the day of delivery, the pain is even more severe. If the women were to exchange with men to carry pregnancy alone, many of them would run away.

Somebody will say, they are paying for the problems they caused the whole world, what about Adam, who did not use his head and his authority to say No? If Eve had eaten and Adam did not, we would all have still been in the Garden of Eden, but God was waiting for what Adam would do and he foolishly took a wrong decision – apology to him wherever he is. Despite the accusation of them bringing sin into the world, they were also the first to announce the resurrection of Jesus Christ from death.

Finally, women are more tolerant than their men counterparts. No matter what must have happened, they have the forgiving heart and always ready to listen but men are always in a rush to do things. Read the story below to have a clue:

*TOO LATE TO APOLOGISE AND WHAT REALLY HAPPENED*
* Where are you coming from by this time of the night?

He thundered.

Honey you won’t believe what happened today. Oh God I’m so tired right now. She replied as she yawned.

* I asked where you are coming from and you are vomiting rubbish.
Does that answer my question? Are you trying to pretend you don’t
know there’s no food in this house?

Goke said fuming.

* Honey I’m sorry but you should hear me out first. I….

Before she could complete that sentence, a thunderous slap kissed her left cheek and she passed out on the sofa.

* Get my dinner ready, after that you will tell me why you switched off your phone.

He said as he walked towards the bedroom.
When he noticed there was no response from his wife, he was infuriated.

He rushed towards her to unleash the rest of the demon in him but on getting close to her, he discovered she has passed out. He was shocked. Cold sweat appeared on his forehead and raced down his temple.

Fear gripped him. He began to panic. He dashed into the bedroom, picked his car key and darted out of the house to open his car.

He rushed back into the house almost immediately, lifted his wife and headed to his car.

As he made to start the ignition, the car key fell off his hand. He was visibly shaking. Picking up the car key proved to be a difficult task to him as he couldn’t get hold of it.

He succeeded but had to use both hands to start the car ignition. His shaky hands turned against him. His heart was racing. He couldn’t hold the steering firmly but he managed to drive his way to the hospital.

Getting to the hospital, he alerted the nurses. His wife was rushed into the emergency ward. He became restless.

After about five minutes, his doctor appeared to him. Good evening Mr. Goke. Good evening doctor, how’s my wife? He said with great panic.

“Your wife was here a few hours ago. She brought your mum to the hospital before going home and if she had been ten minutes late, your mum would have died.

“She wanted to alert you but her phone battery went flat. I would have called you but she said she will notify you when she get home,” the doctor said.

What really happened?
The doctor asked.
*Doctor, is my wife okay?*
*He asked with teary eyes.*
*”Your mum is in the other ward Mr Goke.”*
The doctor replied.
He couldn’t hide his impatience as he gripped the doctor’s shirt.

*”What about my wife doctor? Is she okay?”*

The doctor managed to pull his hands off his shirt before letting the cat out of the bag.

*”I’m sorry Mr Goke, your wife couldn’t make it. She’s dead.
He was shocked. Cold shivers ran down his spine. He began to shake Hot tears welled up his eyes and as he made an attempt to speak, they raced down his cheeks.

*He groaned in pain and let out a mad shout.
But then, it was too late to correct his mistake.

*He should have heard her first as requested by her. He should have controlled his anger. He shouldn’t have laid his hand on her. He should have been patient with her

*It was too late to apologize
*Don’t make such a mistake. Ask questions with love. Don’t carry the anger from one person to another, learn to forgive easily.

*Stop Domestic Violence
*Be an Understanding Husband and Wife.*
*The only difference between ANGER and DANGER is “D” and that D represents *DESTRUCTION, *DAMAGE *DEATH *DEMON
Do have a pleasant day!
