The chairman of Edo State Sports Commission, Mr. Yusuf Ali said there is no doubt that Delta is far far the best when it comes to sports.

He made the claim in Asaba, Delta State while speaking with some journalists yesterday.

The former Nigerian international athlete said Delta is dominance in sports because they have the resources and others at the disposal.

His words, “When it comes margin, Delta is far far superior to other states. They have the materials, they have the resources and others.

He also praise their neighbouring state in the area of facilities. He said, “Apart from Delta, then Edo, in terms of hosting, they stand out when it comes to facilities.’

Mr. Yusuf however claimed that in terms of organization, his state, Edo State is far better than Delta State.

His words, “I think in terms of organization, Delta didn’t come near Edo State at all. You go to the hostels, you will not be satisfied but you cannot judge until after the festival because things are getting better.”

He continued, “You know when you get to an event like this, even the olympic game, the first two days you will have some teething problems but if I must judge now, Edo to me is far better than what we have right now.

The chairman however advised the the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to put a team in placeto inspect facilities before and during festival.

“Before hosting right is given to any state, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development should ensure that they have a team in place that will be going round to ensure that facilities and basic things provided are in place,” he concluded.
