Safety Shooters are now back to the top of the summit after defeating Tojemarine Academy on day 6 of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2023 phase 1 in Benin City, Edo State.
Safety Shooters had to dig deep to earn a 29-25 victory over Tojemarine who have been termed giant killers after they shockingly defeated defending champion Kano Pillars on day 5 of the league.
Kano Pillars meanwhile, played out a 27-27 draw with Lagos Seasiders while Niger United came back to winning as they defeated Rima Strikers 24-22.
De Defenders got the biggest victory of the day as they expertly defeated Police Machine 33-19 while Confluence Stars got a comfortable 28-19 victory over Correction Boys.
Benue Buffaloes defeated Bendel the 27-20.
Adekeke Segun of the Lagos Seasiders was voted the MVP for day 6. There were no matches in the women category.
